Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
What is being Done?
In the first nine months of 2008, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance has provided relief and recovery assistance for thirty-five disasters in forty presbyteries in the United States alone. Hurricane Ike has once again called the faithful PDA volunteers and staff to Texas and Louisiana to help in assessing the damage and channeling aid to the places where it is most needed. PDA response teams are already at work in Galveston, Beaumont, Orange, Port Natchez, Lake Charles, Houston, San Antonio, and elsewhere. Early assessments call for $750,000 to meet immediate needs and up to ten times that amount for long-term recovery efforts. Your help is urgently needed.
