This month at P.L.O.W. we are will be digging deep into the theology of living green. In our five-week series we will examine what the Bible has to say about taking care of the earth, why eating local foods may be one of the most important moral issues of the day, how worms are the best garbage disposals, and practical ways our congregation can keep Park Lake clean and green. 


October 1: When it comes to environmental issues, the Bible is a surprisingly relevant and provocative resource. Keaton Hill and George Spaeth will kick off our five-week green series with a discussion of the theology behind environmental consciousness. Are environmental issues moral issues? October 8: Janice Rahill, Manager of Green Up Orlando, will speak to us about the history and focus of Green Up Orlando and how we can work with Green Up to keep our lake and park clean. She will also tell us about the Keep Orlando Beautiful citywide lake clean-up October 25th.

October 15: Bernie Moro of Our Vital Earth Worm Farm will speak to us about the benefits of vermiculture - worm composting - how it works, and how it can benefit your garden and the planet. October 22: Alaina Bernard-Kitchings, Assistant Director & Campus Sustainability Liaison of UCF's Environmental Initiative, will speak to us about sustainable landscape planning and ways to conserve our Florida ecosystems. We will learn about landscape design that is not only ecologically sustainable but also aesthetically pleasing.

October 29: Emily Ruff, founder of Orlando’s Homegrown Food Co-op, will speak to us about eating locally. She will share creative information and news about the local food movement, and show us easy ways that we can support our local food economy. For more information:
